You can create coupons for distribution which people can apply to the price of tickets you sell via your event web page.
To start, navigate to TICKETS in your event.
To create a functioning coupon, you must first create a ticket. Please refer to our article Creating a Ticketed Event for step-by-step instructions on this process.
Once you've created your ticket, click the +COUPON button.
The NEW COUPON panel will appear.
For NAME, type in an internal name for your reference. This wont be visible by guests.
For CODE, type in the code you want guests to use to apply their coupon.
For COUPON TYPE, you have different options for how the coupon effects the ticket price. You can click the drop down menu to choose.
If you choose DISCOUNT PERCENTAGE, the coupon will deduct the percentage you type into the Discount % textbox from the face value price of the ticket.
For example, if I type 20% into the Discount % textbox, and the ticket is $200, the people who use this coupon will pay $160 after they've applied the coupon.
If you choose DISCOUNT $, the coupon will deduct the dollar amount you type into the Discount $ textbox from the face value of the ticket.
For example, if I type $50 into the Discount $ textbox, and the ticket is $200, the people who use this coupon will pay $150 after they've applied the coupon.
If you choose PRICE OVERRIDE, whatever number you type into the textbox will be the price that your guest pays once they've applied the coupon.
For example, if I type $60 into the Price Override textbox, and the ticket is $200, the people who use this coupon will pay $60.
The START DATE and END DATE control when the coupons are effective. The coupon will automatically no longer work at midnight on the end date. To create a coupon which only works for a day, make the start and end date the same.
The MAX AVAILABLE number sets a limit on how many times in total this coupon can be applied by all purchasers. Once this limit is reached, either the Insert Coupon field will no longer appear (if this was the only coupon applied to the Ticket), or that coupon will no longer work when applied.
Once you've double checked and perfected everything about your coupon, press SAVE.
After pressing SAVE, you'll land back on the TICKET page. The coupon you just created will appear in the COUPONS sidebar.
To make your coupon available to apply to your tickets, check the corresponding box below the eye icon. You will not be able to activate coupons whose dates have expired. You can go in and amend the active dates by clicking the name of the coupon.
In SeatRobot, the coupons you create in an event can be applied to none, or one, or more of the tickets you have created. You can also apply multiple different coupons to any single ticket.
To apply your coupon to your ticket, click the ticket you want to apply it to.
The ticket window will expand. Click the COUPONS button inside the ticket.
The COUPONS pop up window will appear. Check the box next to the coupon you want to apply to this ticket, then press SAVE.
After pressing SAVE, you'll land back on the ticket panel. You'll notice there is now a checkmark in the COUPONS button, indicating that there are active coupons.
Ensure you press SAVE in this ticket box, otherwise your coupons will not be applied to this ticket.
Now, when guests go to buy a ticket for your event, they'll see a textbox that says ENTER COUPON CODE.
If they type the coupon code into the textbox, then click APPLY, the price will change to reflect the discount. A timer will appear in the top right corner. This is activated in order to prevent people holding limited coupons without using them.
PLEASE NOTE: Application of coupons to any ticket does not also discount the ticket fee, the calculation of which remains based on the original face value of the ticket as set in your TICKETS page in the event.
