Most events have a fixed start and end time. For example, a webinar at 2PM on Thursday or a workshop running over a weekend.
But not every event fits that mold. Some content is just as valuable on a Tuesday afternoon as it is six months from now, and putting an arbitrary date on it only creates friction for the people you're trying to reach.
An on-demand event has no fixed start or end time. It lives on your website indefinitely and is available for anyone to register for and access at any point. Once someone registers, they get immediate access. This works well for a wide range of use cases:
- a pre-recorded prenatal webinar that expectant parents can watch whenever they're ready
- a product onboarding course that new customers can access the moment they sign up
- a safety training module that employees can complete on their own schedule
- or an introductory class that serves as a permanent entry point to your program.
In short, on-demand events are visible and accessible at any time, because the content doesn't depend on real-time interaction or a specific date.
To make an on-demand event, first navigate to the REQUIRED DETAILS table in SETUP.
- Choose your EVENT MANAGER and EVENT NAME.
- Then, check the box next to MULTIPLE DAY EVENT.
- For START DATE, choose the date when you want the on-demand event to be available.
- For END DATE, choose the date when you want the on-demand event to no longer be available. The latest date you'll be able to choose is 1 year away from when you're creating the event.
- You can choose any START TIME / END TIME, as this distinction is irrelevant and we'll be hiding it.
- Click SAVE once all the REQUIRED DETAILS meet your specifications.
Proceed with setting up the remainder of the visual and functional aspects of your event. For more information on this process, refer to the articles below:
Once you've set everything up, navigate to WEB PAGE.
Scroll down to the EVENT DETAILS VISIBILITY table.
- Check the box next to HIDE DATE ON WEB PAGE HEADER AND AGGREGATED EVENTS PAGE.
- Uncheck the box next to DISPLAY EVENT DATE IN EVENT DETAILS.
- Uncheck the box next to DISPLAY EVENT TIME IN EVENT DETAILS.
Scroll to the top of the page and click PREVIEW EVENT WEB PAGE.
Your event web page will open in a new tab. After checking / unchecking the boxes listed above, the web page will make no mention of specific dates or times for the event.
