A recurrent event is an event that has multiple occurrences, where attendees aren't expected to attend every event - for example, a weekly drop-in yoga class.
If this doesn't sound accurate to your event, please refer to Creating a Series Event or Creating a Multiple Day Event.
To make a RECURRENT event, start by making a standalone event. As always, you'll start in your dashboard, by clicking NEW EVENT.
Once you've created the first event in your recurrence, you can schedule the remaining events to create a recurrence. To do this, click the calendar icon in the SCHEDULE column that corresponds with your event.
You will be redirected to a new SET SCHEDULE FOR... page. Select RECURRING in the top left of the page.
Now you can choose the frequency of the recurrence. The STANDARD table has selections for typical chronological recurrences. The CUSTOM table has options for atypical patterns.
Next, choose when you want your recurrence to finalize in the COMPLETES table. If you have an exact number of events contained within the recurrence, select AFTER. Then, type in the number of individual events within the recurrence.
If you know the exact date that you want the recurrence to finalize, you can utilize the calendar function on the left to choose a specific date.
All of the individual occurrences within your recurrence will appear in the panel on the right.
You can delete any individual dates within the recurrence by clicking the corresponding red trash can icon.
You can also add any new, individual dates to a recurrence by click the ADD EVENT DATE textbox at the top of the panel. A calendar date-picker tool will appear. Click on the date you want to include, then click ADD.
Once the dates in the right hand panel are accurate to your recurrence, click SAVE SCHEDULE.
The CONFIRM SCHEDULE modal will open with the complete set of dates within the recurrence. Click SAVE AND LAUNCH SCHEDULE.
Click CLOSE AND RELOAD DASHBOARD.
You can see that the event you created is now a recurrence, because it has a RECURRENT label to the left of the event title. The green number indicates how many individual events are contained within the recurrence.
If you click that green icon, a panel the the right will expand with all of the individual events within that recurrence. From here, you can click on individual events to edit them. If you want people to be able to register for more than one occurrence at a time, check the box next to ALLOW MULTIPLE REGISTRATION. For more information on this process, refer to Registering for Multiple Occurrences in a Recurrent Set.
