ZenGRM gives you two ways to remove a guest from your event: declining them or deleting them. Understanding the difference will help you keep your guest list accurate and your data clean.
Declining vs. Deleting
When you decline a guest, you are indicating that they registered for your event but will no longer be attending. Their record remains in your guest list, and you can still access their information at any time. Declining is the appropriate action when a registrant has notified you they can no longer make it, or when you need to mark someone as not attending while preserving their record for your reference.
Deleting is different. It fully removes a guest from your guest list in the event, meaning they won't appear in the event records or counts going forward. It's a bigger action, so it's worth knowing when to use it.
When to Delete a Guest
There are situations where deleting a registration is the right call. A common example is during event setup. If you tested your registration by submitting entries with personal or placeholder email addresses, those test registrations will appear in your guest list alongside real attendees. Rather than having them skew your counts or show up in your records, you can delete them to ensure your list only reflects genuine registrations by the time you officially launch.
There are other cases too. For example, removing someone who registered multiple times using different email addresses, cleaning up registrations made by mistake, or just keeping your data as tidy as possible.
One thing to keep in mind: deleting a guest from an event cannot be reversed other than by having the guest re-register, or re-inviting that guest. The guest record will still remain in your contacts database.
To delete a guest from your event, first navigate to GUEST LIST.
Identify the guest(s) you want to delete, then select them by checking the box in their row (to the far left).
Once you've selected the guest(s), click the red trash can icon in the tool bar.
After confirming your request via a final verification pop-up, the guest will be deleted from the event record.
