This article provides step-by-step guidance for creating a TICKETED class or event using ZenGRM. If your event is free, refer to Creating a Free Event.
Before reading this article, we recommend referring to Essential Steps for Creating an Event in ZenGRM for full context and preliminary steps.
After you've submitted the REQUIRED DETAILS for your event, the REGISTRATION BUTTON modal will open. This registration button is only ever relevant to free events. Therefore, we need to amend this button to ensure it doesn't show up on our event web page.
- Type '0' into the MAX REGISTRATIONS WITH THIS BUTTON textbox.
- Uncheck the box next to DISPLAY ON EVENT WEBPAGE.
- Click SAVE INFO.
Navigate to TICKETS.
Click TICKET in the PACKAGE NAME column.
The TICKET panel will expand on the right side of the screen.
For NAME, type in the preferred name of your ticket. What you type into the NAME section will appear on your webpage as the button people click to purchase a ticket. By default, it will be called TICKET, but you can customize it to your preferences. You can change the name of the ticket at any time.
For CONFIRMATION EMAIL, choose the confirmation email you'd like purchasers to receive after buying a ticket. By default, they will receive the Default Ticket Confirmation. We recommend customizing this email as soon as you finish creating the ticket (instructions below).
For PACKAGE TEXT, type in any key information you want guests to know before purchasing. Anything you type into the PACKAGE TEXT area, will appear in the modal when purchasers are submitting their contact details when they begin the ticket purchasing process.
Please note: This information isn't immediately available on the event web page. It's accessible by clicking an info icon next to the button. If you have information that is imperative for your guests to know before registering, we'd recommend putting it inside the event description as well.
For NUMBER AVAILABLE, type in the maximum number of tickets you want to be available, i.e. the capacity of your event. If you intend on creating more than one ticket, type in the number of tickets you want available for this specific ticket.
If you would like this ticket to become a waitlist button once the tickets sell out, check the box next to ACTIVATE WAITLISTING.
After checking that box, the WAITLISTED ALLOWED textbox will become editable. Type in the preferred capacity for the waitlist.
If you do not want a waitlist for this registration button, leave ACTIVATE WAITLISTING unchecked.
Please note: If you chose to enable waitlisting, you should customize your waitlist confirmation message and waitlist confirmation email after creating this ticket.
If you'd like to activate BILL ME LATER functionality or COUPONS for this ticket, click their respective buttons. For more information regarding this process, refer to:
INDIVIDUALS INCLUDED refers to the number of people you want to be associated with a singular ticket. For example, if your event allows people to bring a plus one or a support person, you'd assign 2 people to this ticket. For more information regarding this process, refer to Individuals Included.
Please note: Selecting 2 or more for INDIVIDUALS INCLUDED does not mandate that the primary registrant submit their plus one's details to successfully buy a ticket. It simply gives them the option to.
Type in the cost of your ticket into the PRICE textbox. If you'd like ZenGRM fees to be included in the sticker price displayed on the event web page, check the box next to INCLUDE FEES IN PRICE. Once you've set your specifications, click SET.
Once everything in the ticket modal meets your specifications, click SAVE.
The panel on the right will collapse. The ticket you made will appear in the TICKETS / 3RD PARTY PACKAGES section. Right now, the ticket exists, but it hasn't been published to the event web page. To make the ticket public, you must check the box in the visibility column (denoted by the eye icon).
The EVENT REFUND POLICY modal will open. Select the refund policy you want to apply to this event, then click DONE.
Now, your ticket is available on your event web page. The EVENT MAX count will update to reflect how many guests spots there are in the event based on the specifications you outlined in your ticket.
Next, navigate to EMAILS.
By default, anyone who buys a ticket will receive the DEFAULT TICKET CONFIRMATION email. ZenGRM has a pre-saved template to ensure purchasers don't receive an empty email, but you should customize it to your preferences. For more information regarding this process, refer to Default Ticket Confirmation.
Once your confirmation email is saved, navigate to WEB PAGE.
Click PREVIEW EVENT WEB PAGE.
Your event web page will open in a new tab. You can see how your ticket appears to your intended audience. Please refer to the steps outlined in Essential Steps for Creating an Event in ZenGRM to ensure your audience can discover your event and receive all the necessary details to attend.
