If you have assigned plus ones to your event via Guests per Registration in a free event, or Individuals Included in a ticketed event, you have a variety of controls to manage these additional guests in the GUEST LIST.
As people start registering for your event, they will populate in your guest list. Regardless of whether they add their plus one's contact information or not, their registration will be counted as two people in the guest list (or 3 people if guests per registration was set as 3 people, etc.)
Names that have a green 2 next to them are the primary guest. Names with the white circle next to them are plus ones.
If you hover over the green number next to someone's name, you can find more information about their plus one.
If their details haven't been entered yet, it will just say 'GUEST OF...'
You can see which guests are 'grouped' together, comprised of a primary guest and their plus one(s), because they'll share a link number.
When a guest has registered, but didn't submit the contact details for their plus one, they'll have a link number, but no one currently displayed in the guest list will have the same link number. However, their plus one's spot in the event is still counted towards the total guest count.
We can see this if we click the guest status icon in the tool bar.
VIEW CONFIRMED is 6. This number is comprised of the 4 primary guests + 2 of the plus ones whose details were added.
HELD is 2. These are the plus ones whose details have not been added. The status HELD refers to the fact that the system does not know exactly who they are. However, their place at the event is held, because the registration allows a plus one for every primary guest who registers.
If you find out the contact details of the plus one of a primary guest, you can add them manually in the guest list. For example, Stefan Arroyo emailed me the name of their plus one. To add them, I'd click this icon in Stefan's row:
The ADD / EDIT 'GUEST-OF' FOR... modal will open. Add the guest's details into the provided textboxes, then click CONFIRM GUEST DETAILS.
Now, the guest you added will appear in the guest list, with a white circle next to their name, to indicate that they are the plus one of a primary guest.
Please note, the guest list will appear in alphabetical order by last name as the default setting. To see the guest list grouped by the primary guests + their plus ones, click the link icon at the top of the link column.
Now that you've added the guest details of a plus one, the guest status counts are affected. We can see that CONFIRMED has increased by 1 (from 6 to 7). We can also see that HELD has decreased by 1 (from 2 to 1).
You can also remove a 'guest-of' from a primary guest from a free registration. For example, Grayson Grant called me to let me know that he doesn't plan on bringing anyone, so we can give that spot to someone else for this event.
Please note: This feature is not available for ticketed guests. If you amended the 'guests per registration' to be 2 or more for a ticket, you cannot remove this privilege from the ticket.
To remove his plus one, I'd click this icon in Grayson's row:
The ADD / EDIT 'GUEST-OF' FOR... modal will open. Click DECLINE GUEST.
Now that you've removed Grayson's 'guest-of', a few things in the guest list will update. The green circle next to his name will no longer contain the number 2, unlike the other primary guests who are on record as having a plus one.
Within the guest status dropdown, CONFIRMED remains at 7. However, we can see that HELD has decreased by 1 (from 1 to 0). Also, DECLINED has increased by 1 (from 0 to 1).
If you want to change the contact details of one of your guest's plus ones, you can do so by the same process as above. For example, Colton Rossi emailed me to let me know that Paige Rossi can no longer make it. He sent a new name to replace her. To update this information, I'd click this icon:
The ADD / EDIT 'GUEST-OF' FOR... modal will open. Enter the contact details for the new 'guest-of' in the provided textboxes, then click CONFIRM GUEST DETAILS.
The new guest you added will appear in the guest list. The guest you replaced will no longer be in the guest list. All guest status counts will remain unchanged.
You can also add an additional plus one to a free registration guest (either via invite or a free registration via the event web page). This feature is not available for ticketed guests. To do this, click this icon in their row:
The ADD / EDIT 'GUEST-OF' FOR... modal will open. Click ADD GUEST OF.
The modal will expand with GUEST 2. It will say HELD, indicating that the guest is currently reserved. If you have the contact information for these guests available, you can add it at this point. If not, click CONFIRM GUEST DETAILS.
The primary guest will now have a 3 next to their name, indicating that there are 3 attendees associated with Junaid's registration.
