In ZenGRM, you can create a contact list from your guest list.
What is the difference between lists and tags? In short, TAGS are for internal organization. LISTS are for external communication. Lists are critical at the contacts level of your organization, and for sending invites to future events.
If you're trying to organize people within your guest list, and want to determine whether it makes more sense to group them via tags or lists, follow these guidelines:
- If you're organizing people for a purpose that's specific to this event, i.e. food choices, seating or activity, you should use the tag feature.
- If you want to group people together, in a way that's useful for future events, you should follow the process below.
To create a list, first navigate to GUEST LIST.
Then, select the people you want to add to your list. For example, my event is a company retreat. A handful of people expressed interest in being on the organizing committee for company offsites. I've taken note of their names, and found them within my event by utilizing the search bar. I select the checkbox that corresponds with their name. Then, I'll click CREATE NEW CONTACT LIST FROM SELECTED, because I don't yet have a list for the organizing committee.
The MAKE NEW LIST window will appear. Type the name into the textbox, then click SAVE NEW LIST.
Those guests now belong to that list. If you want to add more people to the list in the future, select their names, then click the lists icon and choose ADD SELECTED CONTACT(S) TO EXISTING CONTACT LIST.
The REMOVE FROM OR ADD TO CONTACT LIST(S) window will appear. Select the list you want to add them to, then press ADD.
You can also remove people from lists within this window.
