How does waitlisting work for multiple registration buttons / tickets?

A guest can only be included in the guest list once. Therefore, they cannot be a confirmed guest in the guest and join the waitlist for another type of registration within the same event.

For example, I am the event manager for a Postpartum Wellness Center Tour. We offer two types of attendance - in person and virtual. The in-person registration button has reached capacity and is waitlist only now.

A guest in the event who is registered for the virtual tour wants to join the waitlist for the in-person tour. If she tries to do that, the modal will open as normal, and she will enter her contact details in the registration input fields and register.

However, once she clicks through to join the waitlist, the DUPLICATE REGISTRATION modal will appear. She will be informed that her information is already registered within this event. Therefore, she cannot join the waitlist for that registration button.

She will receive an email with the subject line 'We Have Received Your Registration' that contains the following message:

In short, you can only be registered within an event once. You cannot be confirmed via one button and waitlisted via a separate button.
