The process for waitlisting will be updated to be more intuitive and functional. These improvements mean that previous waitlist workflows are either amended or redundant. Below, you will find guidance regarding the transition from previous waitlist processes to updated procedures.
Free Registration Buttons
Currently, waitlisting is automatic. As soon as a registration button meets capacity (as defined in the 'Max registrations with this button' textbox) the registration button automatically becomes a waitlist button. There is no maximum for the waitlist.
When the new workflow is launched, ZenGRM users will be able to enable waitlisting per registration button. Once you enable waitlisting on a registration button, you can also set a maximum capacity for the waitlist itself.
If you have a current event with a free registration button, waitlisting will be turned on automatically. The maximum for every button will be set to 20, or double the number of people who are currently waitlisted for that event - whichever number is greater.
Our aim is to bring in this feature without effecting your event. If you do nothing, your event will automatically go to waitlist. However, once this feature is launched, you can go into your event and set a customized capacity for your event, or disable waitlisting entirely.
Tickets
Currently, there is no waitlisting functionality for tickets.
When the new workflow is launched, you'll be able to enable waitlisting per individual ticket. Once enabled, you can also control the capacity of the waitlist. This process mirrors the waitlisting process for free registration buttons.
Once this new workflow is launched, event managers will need to enable this in their events if they'd like to utilize it. Waitlisting will not be turned on automatically for tickets.
The 'Fake' Waitlist Button Workaround
Many of our clients who want to monitor interest in ticketed events have created registration buttons titled 'Waitlist' that automatically register guests as waitlisted.
This feature will be deprecated as soon as the new workflow is launched. If you currently utilize this feature, we recommend enabling waitlisting on your individual tickets as soon as the new workflow is launched.
Waterfalling
As with all settings on registration buttons, waitlisting settings do not waterfall. This is for data integrity reasons. Therefore, we advise applying waitlisting settings to new master events before creating new recurrent sets.
